Load the game faster with this 'Microsoft Security Essentials' tweak!

Copy/Pasting:

Go into your Microsoft Security Essentials, then into the advanced settings. Go to Exclude Files or Folders and add your Glyph directory to the list. This should fix it.
Windows Defender can be off, but if you have Microsoft Security Essentials installed, the suite still functions.
Hackshield uses techniques from the 90's to detect extremely basic cheats. Injection, rootkitting, etc. Unsurprisingly, anti-viruses will pick this up as a threat and begin scanning the entire game folder.
In Windows case, the Anti-Malware Service (MsMpEng.exe) will not only scan the whole folder, but it will also make a temporary copy of the entire game.pak in c:/windows/temp every time it runs which causes your disk read/write to hard cap for a very long time (be sure to clean the temp folder out after you add Glyph to the exclusion list). You can pull up the Windows Resource Monitor to actually watch this occur. It's pretty horrifying.
Overall, it's a lot of hassle to deal with for an anti-cheat measure that doesn't stop anything developed in the last decade anyway.
